About
Updated June 23, 2010
Hi, I’m Susan, also known as SpaceCase. This is my website.
I started The Space Suitcase on May 10th, 2004 with a post about Washington from Welcome Back Kotter. Since then, the site has been hosted on various platforms until I finally settled on my self-hosted WordPress site in 2006. I’ve been here ever since.
When I started this site six years ago, I wrote anonymously. As time as gone on, it’s not only been harder and harder to keep it anonymous, but I find I don’t really want to. I’m proud of a lot of the writing I’ve done here, and look forward to being more open about the site.
To that end, though, I’ve taken down a lot of the posts from the first two years or so (and may continue to weed out a few posts here and there as necessary). There wasn’t anything controversial or particularly embarrassing, but times change, people grow, and it was time for those posts to be archived. I still have them in a secure location, so if by chance I pulled something you absolutely must! see! just let me know.
As of this writing (June, 2010) I live in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband, Mr. Martini and our two Siamese cats, Ruby and Zelda. We moved to Louisville in September of 2008 after living in Chicago for six years. We’re still getting used to it, but so far we’re really enjoying our new city.
A little history, because this is the type of stuff I love to read on other people’s “About Me” pages: I grew up in New Hampshire, and still consider myself a New Englander at heart. I spent my formative years thinking I’d be a professional actress. I don’t want to be an actress anymore. I work in a very numbers oriented job, and it suits me, even if it makes me crazy sometimes. I spend my free time knitting, crafting, watching lots of TV. I spend my lunch hours reading.
Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me at: susan (at) spacesuitcase (dot) com.
