One Good Shot

I think I may have mentioned that I took a photo class recently. It wasn’t focused on the artistry of photography, but more on the mechanical “this is what aperture means” and “this is how to adjust your white balance” for new dSLR owners.

I’m still hesitant to really and truly experiment with settings, preferring instead to just set the camera on the basic dummy mode. Read: I’m usually too lazy/impatient to take the time to experiment. There, I said it.

That said, every once in awhile I get a shot I’m proud of. I just need to take a breath and take the time to be brave and experiment.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Water

Water in an outdoor fountain on a sunny day. It may not be the best composed shot, and I may still need to learn how to keep my camera level, but I really, really like this. And that one good shot gives me confidence to keep trying.

Before I read the description, I thought it was metal. Very cool.
